New customs requirements


According to Advisory Opinion No. 05/SYS/WZU/2022 dated 30 March 2022, Indian business entities acting as consignors or consignees of parcels must:


- Register the authorized dealer code (AD code) of their bank in the customs system.


- Provide accurate bank AD code for shipments to and from India for export or import clearance in India.


These requirements also apply to the following low-value package shipments:


- Exports: Commercial goods valued at INR 500,000 (approx. EUR 6,090)


- Imports: low-value taxable goods with a value not exceeding 100,000 rupees (about 1,220 euros).


However, the following criteria can be exempted:


- document shipment, sample shipment value up to 10,000 rupees (about 122 euros); B2C imports to India; Indian personal exports.
